What the sheet does that the filings don't

New money, not restated totals

An amendment restates the whole filing. The sheet compares it with the filing it amends and shows the difference. That's the new money, in green, the only green on the sheet.

One raise, not five filings

One raise is often filed as several entities that share a person or an address. The sheet reads them as one raise and lists every entity. A $50M raise doesn't show up as five small ones.

Real estate only

Only filings in a real estate category, plus funds whose names say real estate. You don't wade through everything else that files.

Who's filed before

The people behind the filings are matched across the archive. You see who's raised before and how often. Each count says how far back it reaches.

A fixed weekly sheet

Each issue is the filings the SEC listed that week, fixed once. Read it next year and it's the same sheet, with the same links.

One short read

One paragraph of judgment, checked line by line against the rows. When a claim can't be checked, the sheet goes out without it.

Who reads it

Firms that raise money for real estate deals use it to see who else is raising in their market. Investors use it to check a firm's filing history before they commit. Lenders, administrators, and lawyers use it to find new clients, because a new filing means a deal is underway. Sponsoring the sheet puts you in front of all three.
